Welcome to the Department of Human Resource Development

Let me take this opportunity to welcome you to the department of human resource development. The department has courses that teach students techniques for organizing institutions, businesses, hiring personnel, training and developing individuals for a career growth and progression. The department prepares students who become professionals focused on developing people and teams in the workplace. Human resource courses are available through full and part-time teaching in diploma, bachelor, master and PhD degree programs in human resource management. The human resources programs also prepare graduates to pursue certification from the Institute of Human Resource Management Kenya (IHRMK). Graduates qualify to work as human resources managers as either generalist or specialist and equally they can also pursue career in academia. Students normally take courses that cover topics such as human resource planning, labour laws, employee development, performance management, compensation management, employee welfare, health and safety among others. I therefore want to warmly welcome you to the department on my own behalf and that of the members.
